Foxy scene

Posted by Lena Nunn at 10:05 PM 7 comments
Its time for another Speedy Fox and Friends challenge and this week its circles. Use some circles on your card. I admit I did this card three times and still did not love the results . I tried to create a ornament and that didnt work so finally I just went with a scene within a circle. DONE! I used the Scenic Selections set from Marks Finest Papers, A Heinrich Co. I even used the watermark fox that comes with every set on the scene . Sorry for the short post but I'm staying at my parents tonight since Tony is still out of town. We are going for a walk in the morning. This mornings weight : 225

while I was walking

Posted by Lena Nunn at 2:49 PM 1 comments

My friend Emily had this great idea that she used to do while she was out walking which was taking pictures of things she found interesting, beautiful, funny etc. Today while I was on my lunch time walk I took a picture of this sign from our towns theatre. Its a million years old ( give or take a couple thousand years). I only walked for a half hour but it seemed to boost my energy for the rest of the day. Hopefully my afternoon walk will be longer. Todays weight : 226 ( slowly but surely it will come down!).

Over the weekend I was looking on Pinterest for hours ( oh, don't shake your head you know you do it too) and I saw a card that inspired me .
 Pinned Image
Isn't this gorgeous? I think so! So I made my own ( that doesn't even belong on the same screen as the original). I love the colors, the ribbon, the stamps , the embossing. I just love the whole thing. Thank you for INKspiring me. The other day I went for a walk ( Now down to 227. whoo hooo) and I took a pic of this gate I saw on my walk. Its so pretty. Its hard to see in the pics but there is grape vines over it and there was clusters of purple grapes hanging down . I love it!

My favorite technique

Posted by Lena Nunn at 11:00 PM 5 comments
When people talk about stamping and they ask what my favorite technique is, i'm always torn. Is it water coloring, brayering or now my new hobby which is 3-D stamping. I had to pick just one for the Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge so I chose brayering. I think its my go to technique. If I cant decide on which paper I want to use I'll just brayer the whole scene and call it a day. Or night in this case. I used my Hey Cowboy set for this card. Its from Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. and its my favorite set in the whole world. I have used it a zillion times. I used only one color of ink for the background ( SU not quite Navy). I started by brayering the sky lightly and then tore a piece of paper for the mountains and brayered heavily on the bottom . The cowboy was stamped in versafine. Whats your favorite technique? Show us this week and you might win a stamp set!!!!

One pound down 99 to go! I am feeling motivated so I wanted to post another hall of shame pic. Now don't get me wrong I adore this pic. Its of my best Pal Jammie and I BUT I hate the pic of me. Jammie and I used to share clothes when we were younger. Now she could probably use my shirt as a sleeping bag. haha. Maybe a year from now we can go back to clothes swappin. . one more thing to work towards.

ive been diagnosed

Posted by Lena Nunn at 12:55 PM 8 comments
I thought maybe I had a serious case of stamp overdose but it turns out after I got my blood results yesterday that I have Diabetes. Type 2. What I lovingly refer as fat ass diabetes ( hey I have it so I can call it that). So yesterday I had to go to the dr and he told me I have it and need to lose weight to get it under control or eliminate it ( yes in some cases if you lose weight type 2 will go away). I'm about 100 pounds overweight so this was no shock to me. I would have been more shocked if he actually said I have stamp overdose. What this means though is I have to lose weight or I might have to give myself insulin shots. No fun! For those of you who have read my blog from day one ( you all rock!!!) remember my thinspiration thursday post I used to do when I was on a diet before. Well now its time to get back in the game. This is a do or die situation ( literally). I feel as if, I post my weight maybe it will embarass me into posting everyday or at least every other day ( because really who wants to hear me sob over the donut I cant have everyday?). I need encouragment. I need to lose. I need to get my life back. So here is goes , day one.
232 starting weight. Now don't panic. This blog is still all about the cards!! Maybe if I set down the sodas and the candy ill be able to afford more stamps . Because nothing taste as good as stamping feels ( usually I say thin but ive never exsperienced thin so stamping works better).  Here is a picture of me that motivates me ( and hell probably half of you looked at it and dropped the snack you just were eating so it might motivate you too).
This is me and my friend Emily. When I saw this pic I almost cried. Look at my arms. Im the short one with the flabby arms. Emily is the awesome one in the Iowa state sweatshirt. So here I go friends! Wish me luck. Wish me health .

P.S If any of you have My Fitness Pal my user name is lena95469 or endumondo , add me. I could use some friends along the way.

Its time for another FOSTV challenge and this week its to CASE a card. For those of you who don't know what that means it stands for Copy and Share everything. Pic a card from someone you like and copy some of it or all of it. When It was time for me to chose I chose my cousin Jammie because we stamp together a lot and out styles are totally different. She likes bright colors and hates anything symetrical ( which I like). I looked through her blog and found this awesome card. I figured It would be fun. I used the new set from Markers Finest Papers, A Heinrich Co. called Oh, Crab. It has darling images on there . Ive already used it a zillion times ( give or take a million). I didnt have bakers twine that matched my card so I used tule. I know i'm so resourceful. HAHA. Go play along and you could win an awesome stamp set !

Paper: Recollections, DCWV
Ink: Versafine
other: Silicone glue, jems, top note die, prismacolor pencils, oms
Hello friends! I wanted to show you a easel card calender I made last night for my work desk. Isn't this mermaid from Bombshell stamps so pretty?!? The set is called Mermaid Treasure. If you missed some of my previous post, just to recap I am trying to do lots of 3-D cards now. I stamped and colored 6 of these mermaids to make her look 3-D. Its a lot of work but oh so cool! I'll post a tutorial soon. I made a easel card so this can sit on my desk at work. I cut the topnote and put it on bottom so I could write the September birthdays down. I love how this turned out!

Ive been working a new project here lately and I wanted to share it with you all. 3-D stamping. This was my first attempt at it and its so fun but takes SO much time ( we are talking like 5 episodes of Golden girls time). I used this adorable image from The Greeting Farm called Do Si Do Anya. I made the card super simple since I was so tired once I finished her haha. I'll be doing a tutorial soon so check back often!

chalk board

Posted by Lena Nunn at 11:06 PM 9 comments

Baby weekend is in full swing here! In case you missed my last couple of post My step son, wife and baby are here. I dont have kids of my own so anytime someone brings a baby around im a happy girl. BUT those of you with babies know that having a baby around means less stamp time so I had to whip up this card for FOSTV back to school challenge (while willow was napping). I wanted to make my card look like a chalk board and hopefully I accomplished that. I used a white pen to write the Mrs. Hult (for my friend who is an English teacher). Do you have any back to school ideas? play along and you could win a stamp set!!! Right now its baby to baby fun for me!
