For the love of the game and Cortney!

Posted by Lena Nunn at 11:39 AM 2 comments
A great friend of Emily's passed away unexpectedly leaving behind two small children. We at Ward Digis would like to raise money for the family and her kids by offering this digi for Cortney. She loved Basketball! Anyone who donates will receive this digi

Cortney Hoody passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 22nd 2011 ,
and leaves behind two small children, a wonderful family, and group of
friends. Cortney was an phenomenal mother, friend, sister, and
athlete. She participated in several sports, but her favorite sport
that she excelled at most was basketball. She was a All star
basketball player in high school, and went on to play at Hastings
College where she was a stand out player, and received several awards.

Cortney was a person you could go to for anything, and she would tell
you how it is, and help you on your journey. She touched many hearts
close to hers, and people who didn’t know her. She was actively
involved with the local sports community where she created her own
women’s league basketball team single handily and she even coached
her son’s basketball team.

Cortney has and will forever have many people who loved and cared for
her. At this time, Cort’s children, and family have a huge unexpected
financial hardship with funeral plans. We at Ward Digi’s are offering
a tribute digi of “Cortney” in support of her family with the
unexpected costs.
Anyone who donates will be entered to win a box of goodies and a digi bundle ( All of our digis up to this point!!)

If you would like to donate and receive this digi please click on the donate button. All proceeds will go straight to her family . Thank you so much !

About Dang Time!

Posted by Lena Nunn at 9:20 AM 0 comments
My awesome friend Emily gave me this image that she colored ( and ran through a xyron machine) over a year ago. This poor pixie kept getting hidden in stacks of paper where I would find her one day and lose her the next day. So she never got put on a card. The other day I searched and searched for her because I wanted to use her and had no luck. Then Emily was over and she popped up in my glue drawer. So I used her before I lost her again. Doesnt she look cute on this pola dot paper? I love it!!! Thank you Emily, you rock my socks!

Roses In Winter

Posted by Lena Nunn at 8:55 AM 1 comments
I think this is my new favorite color combination. I made this card using the retired " Roses In Winter" set from Stampin' Up! I've had it for about 2 years and only used it three times. That might change now because I LOVE this card. I used Pacific point for the small flowers and the card base. The roses are done in Pumpkin pie, dusty durango and some other marker I had ( hey I dont have all the stampin write markers yet , and I stress YET!) The leaves were stamped in Old olive and the sentiment is from Emily who sells Ippity stamps.

Inkspirational Spotlight ~ Sweet Sentiment

Posted by Lena Nunn at 11:25 AM 2 comments
For todays Inkspirational Spotlight I'm talking about Jammie over at Sweet Sentiment. Jammie always inkspires me by saying things like " pal ( yeah we call each other pal) I need ______ number of cards for my kids party . HELP!!" so im gently persuaded into looking for the topic of card she needs and then we debate over the best way to do them. Jammie lives in Idaho ( yeah she left me to go live in Golf land) and often we will sit and stamp and snap pictures with our blackberries and send back and forth . its good times. If I was to sum up Jammies cards it would be to say Bright, modern and cheerful. Go check out her blog and check out her cute stuff ( she also has tons of Cakes and goodies, yum-o)

This is what Jammies blog says about her:
I live in Idaho with my family and love it! I'm totally obsessed with baking and decorating cakes, cookies, brownies, gift baskets, you name it! My bestest-pal in the whole wide world (my cousin and basically my twin sister) recently got me into stamping and paper crafting; and this is where my path has led me.... Please check out my business site at

This is some of my favorite Cards by her:

Old glory

I made this card for the OWH challenge which was to use mostly white. This was the best stamp for that since the American flag doesn't need anything else to make it beautiful!

Inkspirational Spotlight

Posted by Lena Nunn at 12:22 PM 2 comments
Im going to be trying something new on my blog called Inkspirational Spotlight. Im going to be focusing on people and blogs who inspire me and whos cards I love ! These blogs are ones I read all the time when I need some creativity. So to kick off the first one I'm featuring Emily at Bombshell Em's Artistic Expressions because shes amazing! She always gives me ideas and I love her cards. She also makes a ton of cards for Operation Write Home which I think is amazing. So go check out her blog its awesome. Thank you Emily for Inkspiring me !

This is what Emilys blog says about her:"I am a SAHM of a delightful 4 year old little girl. I am very competitive, and yet very shy. I have always been super crafty, but my SU demo really brought my art to a reality! I am really into the WWII era "pin up" girl art. "

Here is a few of Emilys cards that I love :

pink OD?

Posted by Lena Nunn at 8:34 AM 3 comments
I admit I like pink even though Im a ruff and tumble girl. Something about it is fun and cheerful. BUT I think maybe I went overboard on this card. I borrowed the dots idea from Markies Mom! I love love love her stamp style . Shes Amazing!!!! This sentiment I love and got from my wonderful friend Emily who sells Ippity ( if you have not seen Ippity stamps they are great quality and most of the sentiments are HUGE, which I like) . Go check out her blog and tell her you want some !

Another Tony Card

Posted by Lena Nunn at 8:31 AM 2 comments
Tony saw a bunch of these skulls online so he drew one up ( what I wouldn't do for an ounce of that talent) to make into a digi stamp for his site. He colored in using my stampin' Write markers ( yeah once in awhile I let him touch them haha). I love how this card turned out, I think he did a pretty awesome job.

Cards by Tony

Posted by Lena Nunn at 8:26 AM 0 comments
Once In awhile I can get Tony to make cards with me ( he likes to draw his own pictures though) so last night he did. He made these cute lil cards for teenagers. there are colored in using Stampin' Write markers. I think they turned out pretty stinkin cute. Good job honey!

This image might become available on the Ward Digi site. what do you think?

winter Purples Fresh Cuts

Posted by Lena Nunn at 4:16 PM 1 comments
I adore this card ( even though it took 2 hours)!! I love purple and green together and since the challenge over at In Style Stamps was to use purples I went with it. See all that light purple paper? It started out as white! I stamped the images onto it and then sponged the paper with Elegant eggplant and orchid opulance. The set I used was fresh Cuts which is Stampin' Up and one of my favorites!

Fun with a scoreboard

Posted by Lena Nunn at 8:47 AM 2 comments
I got the Martha Stewart Scoreboard about 6 months ago and have only used it a couple times ( why?! I have no idea!). So I busted it out to make this card. I saw a card with scored boxes on it on SCS and I wanted to try my hand at it . I love how the lines make the card look elegant ( even though I used those fun cheery flowers). This card works pefect for the 365 card Challenge " Make an elegant card". Since the pictures were taken under a florecent light they didnt turn out very good and you can see the light bars ( why does it do that??) but at least it gives you an idea.

I for sure like making cards with you!

Posted by Lena Nunn at 9:16 AM 1 comments
Emily came over on Saturday and made cards with me (what can I say? we're like peas and carrots) . We had so much fun doing cards and then Tony made us a yummy dinner ( Fajitas) and drinks ( Gin fizzes) and we played Yatzee! Actually I got slaughtered at Yatzee ( really?!? who gets three yatzees in one game? EMILY does!!!).

This is one of the cards I did. I lovvveee how this lil ( ok big) band-aid turned out and it was so easy using the dots embossing folder. Can't wait to play again Emily !!

we're quite a pear!

Posted by Lena Nunn at 11:27 AM 0 comments
Emily And I are quite a pair ! I'm so glad I met her because we have so much fun together ( even if its just sitting and stamping). She is amazing ( she did examples for OWH yesterday , you should go check them out)! She got me this pear stamp for my birthday ( along with others) and I wanted to ink it up last night to use with this paper. I love the look of distressed , vintage cards so I tried my hand at that. This card is going in my top ten favorites ( well so far this year at least). Thank you Emily for being awesome , I love you friend!

Posted by Lena Nunn at 11:09 AM 2 comments
Emily and I stamped some more last night and she let me use the set I got her for her birthday . This "cheers" set from Stampin' Up! Is so adorable I love it! I stamped it up and colored it with my Stampin write markers ( how did I live without them?!?). I then went over the glasses with a versafine pen and colored with Clear EP. I then added lil brads for cherries ( Emilys suggestion) So cute!
I made a gatefold card turned horizontaly and put them on that. I love how this card turned out. In person it is so bright and cheery.

Pick a petal

Posted by Lena Nunn at 9:18 AM 1 comments

I used my Stampin' Up! Pick a Petal set for the first time last night. This is a really cute set to make bold fun cards. I stamped the petals out using Pacific Point , the middle of the flower is Rich Razzleberry and the stem is Old Olive. This would be a fun thinking of you or missing you card especially for a kid .

I embossed, just like Dawn!!

Posted by Lena Nunn at 10:52 AM 1 comments
My big sis from this round of secret sister was Dawn! She was an amazing big sis and noticed she embosses all her cards. They are amazing!!! So last night during Emily and I's card making session I wanted to emboss because, I have tons of embossing powder and never use it. This was the results. Its hard to tell from pictures but those lil cups are covered in clear embossing powder so they are shiny . Thanks for the INKSPIRATION Dawn!

Card Day With Emily

Posted by Lena Nunn at 12:08 PM 1 comments

My friend Emily ( hi girl!) came over yesterday and we did some stampin since I am so behind and needed a good inkin day! The first cards I made were these valentines day cards using one of my Stampin' Up! Wheels . I love this wheel , its simple and elegant and can be used for anything. The red is Cherry Cobbler which I love for a Valentines day red. The love inside the hearts was from a retired set I have called Love is in the air.

I also made this card using my wheel called Take a Sip. I always forget about my wheels so it was time to take them out and give them a roll! I also did this card is Cherry Cobbler and basic black and Krumb Cake.

The last card I made was this one using one of Emilys bellas. I went through my scrap bin and used up some of my scraps ( ask emily , I have the BIGGEST scrap drawer ever and its filled to the top so its hard to close. Yes I admit I got a paper hoarding problem!) I love how this card turned out!
Thanks Emily for coming over and stamping with me! We don't do it often enough and I cant wait to see your faces on your card. Oh and I havnt did my Brian Wilson yet...
