Some peacocks and sketches!

Everyone who knows me , knows that there is a few things in life I just adore. One of them is peacocks. I LOVE THEM!! I'm in the process of trying to convice Tony to let us get a couple but he says their call is too loud and annoying. grrrr. I'll ask him when hes in trouble . Maybe then Ill get one. Anyways I made this card for the CPS 5th anniversary card sketch Day 6 . I used my new mist for the scallop part and my new paper for under that. I also used my new Peacock feather stamp . Love this card. Its more artsy then I normally do .

Day 7 of the CPS 5th Anniversary Celebration

Here is my card for the Day 7 sketch over at CPS. I used the strength and hope set from SU. I love this set , its so versatile. My friend told me this card looks " old lady" hahah.

CPS 5th Anniversary Day 8

Hello Friends! Its CPS 5th Anniversary Day 8 so I decided to do some more of their sketches to pass some time. I got this adorable stamp from my bestest pal Jammie . We have called each other pal for the longest time. I really don't remember how it started but it stuck . Even if we are having a very seriouse conversation we call each other that. I covered up the word friends with the word pal so I could send her this card. Love it!!! Oh yeah and shes a big fan of polka dots so I added some of them too.

Its all black and white ...with some red

Two days in a row of posting?!? I know! I'm as shocked as you are. Lately when its get late at night and im sitting there thinking I need to get to bed I have a stampin thought. These are thoughts like I MUST USE THIS STAMP WITH THIS PAPER RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND. I dont know why it happens but it does. Last night at about 10:30 I was thinking of crawling into bed when I suddenly remembered this lace stamp I had but have never used. I ran upstairs to my craft room and dug it out ( I say dug because all of my lose stamps are in drawers and they are filled to top). I then thought of the challenges that needed to be done and decided to do the CPS sketch challenge and the House Mouse Mondays Challenge. The challenge for the mouse was to make a black and white card. Well this lace was perfect for both so VOILA! I even did the inside of the card and thats rare unless I have someone buying it right away.

Its taxes day!

Its one of my favorite days of the year! Tax day! I know most people hate doing taxes but I do easy file with H & R Block so mine are easy peasy lemon squeezy. Plus I need the refund money for more craft stuff right? HAHAH I wish. We are actually using the money this year to put new tags on our truck so we can have two vehicles. Does anyone ever get to actually spend their refund on fun things???

Back to the important stuff. The stuff you read this blog for. The cards of course! I made this card last night for the challenge over at The Greeting Farm . The challenge was to use lace or a doily. I looovveee this lace I got from Wish RAK on SCS . Its kind of vintage looking and sweet. I colored in this Cheeky girl using my SU markers and a blender pen on watercolor paper. I really wanted her to have a watercolor look. Not to blended like I normally do. This paper also came from Wish RAK. Whats wish RAK you ask???? Only the best thing on the planet!!!! If you are a member of Splitcoast stampers you can join a group called wish RAK. From there you grant and make wishes. You get a credit for every wish you grant and in return can wish for something. I made a wish for baking paper and recieved these papers in the mail. Its AWESOME!!!!! You can wish for stamped images, papers, ribbons etc. So fun! My name on SCS is lena95469 , so you can find me.

Well wish me luck and big refunds!! haha

Amazing grace

Hi everyone!! Long time no post huh? I sure have missed all my blogging friends lately so I needed to post something new. The other day I was browsing Pinterest ( If you don't know what that is you MUST go there now and check it out. You must! Its a necessity of life) and I saw a card with flowers stamped on words. I loved it so I had to make my own. Since I needed a sympathy card I decided to go that route. The background is just Amazing grace that I printed off the internet. I then stamped some new dogwood flowers ( they are from Our Daily Bread) I got off wish rak onto the words and colored them in. I then ran it through my embossing folder. It kind of looks like old fabric and I love it! If you have Pinterest I would love to see it. Until next time , happy stamping .

Patriotic Christmas

Hi Friends!!! I bet you all thought I ran away huh? I just have been so busy with the new job I have no time to post lately. I used to actually do it while I was at work but now there is just no time for that. Dang new job!
I made this card the other night for a friend for my brother and SIL who are very patriotic and love horses. I love it because it doesn't use the traditional red and green. Hopefully I can post some more stuff I have been doing later...

Cha-cha-changes

Hi everyone! Sorry it has been so long since I have posted on here. I recieved a new job at work so I have been a busy girl. Two of the woman who work with me left and the company decided instead of bringing in new people for their jobs they would just give them to me. Whoo hoo lucky me ( sarcasm). For those of you who don't know I work at a newspaper as the receptionist. Well in the last few weeks I have became the receptionist, circulation bookeeper and the whole circulation department . Its been super stressful. Anyways this weekend was the first time I was actually able to get to stamping. Whooo hooo! Jammie and I made cards last night and in the midst of a The Greeting Farm challenge I ran out of glue so I went to the store today and restocked and VOILA! This is my challenge which was to be inspired by a tag on the site. I love tags, especially huge ones for big packages. This one would probably only work as a wine tag or on a bike because its 8 inches!!! I loved making it though and totally enjoyed the down time with my pal. Hope to see you more often as I just got a computer at my house ( have not had one in 6 years!!!) .

Vintage Christmas

Happy Halloween friends! I know this post does not look very halloween-ish but thats because Im in full Christmas card mode. I have to make a ton of them for a Christmas Boutique im selling at. I love vintage Christmas cards so I really wanted to make some vintage looking ones. I have a few cards from old family friends that I called Grandpa and grandma that are from the 30's . They Have music notes on them and old vintage santas . So adorable! I made this one using a piece of sheet music that I distressed with my Making Memories Distresser and some brown Close To Cocoa ink. The image of santa was also done the same way. I inked up my Baroque Motifs stamp and stamped it onto the Music also. The wreath has been in my collection for about 4 years. My friend Cassie gave me a bunch of them a long time ago saying " you'll figure out something to do with them". She was right . I love this card. The only thing it doesnt have is the vintage smell and I have no idea how you would acheive that.
I am entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge of Anything Goes

A gun cabinet for my papa

Its a very important day! My dads birthday is today. I sat there wondering what to make for his card last night because all hes into is fishing and guns. Ive made him a gazillion fishing birthday cards ( ok hes not that old) so I wanted to switch it up. I decided on a gun cabinet card. This card was made using brown paper that I stamed with a wood grain stamp. I put the guns on the card base using some pop dots. I then made the "door" and put acetate in the middle to look like glass. It was then attatched to card using pop dots. I love the results of this card. In case your wondering about the pa , I call my dad Pa and my mom Ma. I am entering this card in the Simon Says "anything goes" challenge.

A little Brayering, a little cricut, a little stamps

Happy Monday friends! Is there such a thing? I'm going to hope there is. I made this card on Saturday night in hopes that I could combine my new cricut with stamping. I LOVE it! I started this card by brayering Pacific Point onto white cardstock. The moon was a circle I had taped on there before brayering. I then stamped the trees from Lovely as a tree over it . The snow was made by tearing paper and then adding snow tec to it. Lastly I cut out the reindeer using the Cricut cartridge Wildlife and stamped the sentiment in Black ink. I know the brayering is kind of streaky but I like to think it looks like the northern lights. Right right?

Ive been Scammed :(

How can some people be so cruel?  I just don't get it . Let me explain. I just got a cricut and I'm looking for cartridges for cheap since I am on a really tight budget.  I went to Splitcoast Stampers forums. Well I found a lady on the buy/sell/trade forum who wanted to do some trading of some of my stamps for some cricut cartridges. I was so excited because I had a bunch in my trade pile that she wanted and she had a bunch of cricut carts I wanted. She even had paper pups which is at the top of my wish list. So we agreed to trade stamps for 3 carts and then I pay paled her $20.00 for the paper pups . Well come to find out she was a scammer. She got my box of stamps and money and never sent a thing. She deleted her blog even. Well I can't just go out and spend the money on cartridges so now Im out the stamps, and the $20 not to mention the money it cost to ship the stamps to her priority. How can people scam other stampers? Thats like against the rules of the stampin sisterhood or something!!! I guess she did it to a couple people on there. ggrrrr.
Anyways I made this card last night for the SCS Sketch Challenge SC355. I recieved this adorable stamp from wish rak. . I paper pieced it with some paper I also got off Wish Rak!

Lovely as a tree is lovely to me!

Another Lovely as a tree Christmas card! If you do not have this set your missing out!!! You can order it here . Its great for all your christmas cards, brayered scenes etc.

Embossing with nesties

I learned a new trick! Ok well most of you probably already know this because you actually read packaging but I had no idea I could just emboss with my nesties until yesterday. I was using the folder thingy mabiggy that comes with nesties as a shim when the embossing word caught my eye. So I had to try it. Easy Peasy embossing squeezy! You just lay down the rubber tan mat and paper and then nestie and run through. Voila! I used the lovely as a tree set to stamp inside my oval. These are just the tips of the trees and I added some snow tech to the bottom. Loovvveee the results of this card!

Stamps and Cricut

Happy Monday friends! Its pouring rain here and today is Columbus day so the banks and post office is closed. However I still have to work but its really dead today so Im posting this. I made this card the other day using my new stamps from Marks Finest Papers and my new cricut to do the Birthday Blessings. I love how it turned out even though I only used browns . The birthday blessings is from the George Cartridge and the nesting shapes behind the deer is from Accent Essentials.

Glittery Nightmare

I HAAAATTTTEEEE GLITTER!!!!!!!! You know what I mean right? You open up the jar to use a tiny bit on a card and it gets everywhere! I was prepared this time. I took out my Stampin' Up! Dazzling diamonds and thought " How come I never use this? It rocks!!!" ( funny how we always forget why we dont use it all the time). I then pulled out my powder pal and a LARGE sheet of paper to cover my surface. I layed the paper on my desk with the powder pal on top of it. Hahah im gonna outsmart this glitter. I used a glue pen to mark where I wanted the fine little crystals of mass destruction. I then held card over powder pal and sprinkled lightly . I tapped the card and all the extras went in the PP . Whoo hoo this might work after all. I close the glitter, sit the card on the back of my desk ( where I take pictures) . Im amazed. I did it! Card falls. I reach over desk to sit it back up and hit powder pal . It goes to floor along with the glitter that still in it. After a few curse words I grab some baby wipes and get it up off the floor and all over my hands. When im done cleaning up I grab card and take it downstairs to show Tony my masterpiece. What does he say? " How did you get glitter in your hair?" gggrrrr. I hate glitter!

P.S. I still love this simple card though so Im entering it in the Southern Girls Challenge which is anything goes.

Mixing it up a bit

I went to Big Lots! the other day to look for school supplies for my step-daughter and lookie what I found! If you have ever been to big lots with me you will know I have a routine. I walk in the door and head straight for the scrapbooking aisle. It doesn't matter if im there for school supplies. I just have to look! So the other day I went in there and made my usual beeline for the aisle. I stopped , I gasped! They had restocked!!!! There was tons of new stamps and paper. I got 3 wooden stamps for me and a clear set for for Jammie . I then was walking away when I saw boxed sets of stamps. Right on top was this horse set. It had 10 stamps and an ink pad. The horse wasnt originally silouette but with a sharpie marker any stamp can be . I grabbed the set and the rest of my stuff and went for the school supplies I was supposed to be getting ( which wasn't nearly as fun).
When I got home I decided to make this card for a customer. Her friend loves horses and she wanted a birthday card for him. I brayered not quite navy on white cardstock to get the sky. I then stamped my nature silhouettes with black ink. Stamped the horse and colored him in with sharpie and VOILA! Your probably not even readign the rest of this post. You probably dropped everything to go to big lots to look at stamps huh?

Your Berry Sweet!

I have an amazing friend who is always there for me so I wanted to make her a card to show her how much it she means to me. She loves strawberries so this is right up her alley.I got this paper from Michaels and I couldn't wait to use it!!! Its been sitting in a pile of other paper for over a month. Yeah i'm that kind of person. Got to have it and then don't use it for a long time. Anyways last night I was stamping with Jammie and she suggested I do a gate fold card. GGRRRR. I hate gate
folds. They are not the easiest to make. But I love the result! Hope she loves it! I also entered this card in the Card Makin Mamas Pink Challenge.

Black Bliss

Whats with me and red and black these last couple post? I made this card for the 365 challenge of mostly black. I LOVE this black paper with the polka dots and the ribbon together. It reminds me of the fluffy vintage skirts with the tuille underneath. Love how this turned out!!
